Angello Alcázar is a Gates Cambridge Scholar and PhD Candidate at the University of Cambridge, where he is affiliated with the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics (MMLL) and the Centre of Latin American Studies (CLAS). His doctoral project examines how diary-writing gives shape to emotional experience and masculine identity in the published diaries of contemporary Latin American authors. Alongside his research, he has worked as an academic consultant and journalist, serving as Staff Editor of The McGill International Review and Editor-in-Chief of The Scholar, the magazine of the Gates Cambridge Council, among other roles. Prior to Cambridge, he completed a master's at the University of Barcelona and a B.A. at McGill University. His broader interests include life-writing, gender studies, the history of emotions and education.
